I want more lighting for my tank, can I use LED lights for the plants?

I have a 10 gallon tank, and I wanted it to be flowing with plants. I have a few aponogetons thriving now, and instead of buying a new hood light [mine takes one long bulb], I was wondering if I could use led lights for plants. My current bulb is only 15 watts, and I wanted to keep high light plants [maybe cambomba, because I have plastic cambomba and the real thing would be the bomb ---joke].
