Is it really possible to get a student loan without a cosigner? If so, how and where to apply.?

What is the difference between subsidized and unsubsidized loans? Need money for college. My creidit is bad and looking for employment. Parent, relatives, and friends not able to sign due to own money problems. Already did FAFSA. Can't do work-study-have to be full time student. I'm only gonna be less than half-time student due to only enrolling in 1 course for fall semester. Already contacted financial aid office too. Don't know what else to do or what other options that I may have at this point? Need help or good advice.
